The Cost of Love

Alright guys, so here's a sober update for you. :)
In case you haven't noticed I'm a bit of a lush but I try not to let it affect my comicing if I can help it. To clarify on my last post it wasn't me comparing clients to children, I LITERALLY have gents who want to just tickle, play tag or hide-and-go seek and other such activities and games typically enjoyed by children. Those clients are awesome and fun and easy and I'm amazed that I make money doing this. And, of course, just like it says in the comic, sure I could make minimum wage at a babysitting job but I'd much rather make a few hundred instead. :)

Anyway, moving on from that. I have had a very bad few days hopefully concluding my bad month. We have some personal things to work out around here and hopefully they'll all be resolved within the month. I'm not saying I'm taking time off or anything like that but if I'm late or short with you all please be somewhat forgiving. I'll do my best, anyway. :)

Yes, we get propositioned for sex. No, we are not prostitutes, no we do not do any forms of sex, penetration, fluid swapping, none of that. Still, guys ask and often bribe. Generally the bribes are laughable, as shown above, but I wouldn't do it even if the money was good. Only Sharky gets such privalages from me.
The comics this week deal with money. I think there will be one or two on the same topic next week, as well.

Christmas is coming up! I'm not religious but my family has always celebrated it so it's a tradition that has come to mean good food and lots of family together, especially the ones who live out of town that I don't see often. I'm really excited to see both sides of my family and to give them all the gifts I'm putting together for them. If anyone's feeling generous and so inclined I always love gifts from my wishlist.

You guys are the greatest, thanks for sticking with me. I've seen a huge drop in my ranking on the comic sites...I sure hope it wasn't due to my drunken update. D:

It's understandable. It's amazing how often real life blends in with our cyber-life, and this is doubly true in comic that's based on your own experiences. Anyway, although I'm not personally into BDSM, this web-comic make me chuckle at the very least, and more often then not just cracks me up. You rock Nic, your artistic abilities and sense of humor are excellent, and it gives me a good way to wake up 3 times a week(hey, it's always a nice way to start the day off with a chuckle. :D).

I've just come to the conclusion that some guys are really dense. I got propositioned a few times just for being a nude model. That was a serious wtfuckery moment when I had a guy tell me that being a nude model equated to being a prostitute :P

Ok, stuff like that makes me ashamed of my gender. I'm a masage therapist and I can't count the number of times that my (male) friends have asked me if a client and I ever did anything "extra". I have to reminde them that (usually) life does NOT imitate a porn movie and that if the therapist has any ethics at all (we do take an ethics class as a requirement for our degree), you NEVER take advantage of a client. Just because you have a job that involves showing of, or working on someones (or your own) naked body, doesn't automaticaly mean sex is going to happen, nor are you "prostituting" yourself or others. Sorry for the rant, but that just touches a sore spot with me (and yes, I AM male).

You guys are preaching to the choir!
Frankly, I work in an industry that is in a very deep grey area, since we do deal with SEXUALITY. Many people can't draw the line between sexuality and actual sexual intercourse and I've lost friends over being labeled incorrectly as a "prostitute" in their minds.

I'm sorry to hear that, because that's dumb on your ex-friends part. There's a HUGE difference between sexuality and intercourse. You even said it yourself, you don't get nude (which is kind of a prerequsite for sex), you're simply helping a client get to play out a fantasy. Yes you get paid for it, but than again ANYONE who has a job gets paid for it. You just happen to enjoy your job a bit more than they probably do, maybe they're jealous?

So, you're saying that you are allowed to be a jackass, and that everyone is just supposed to take it?

WOW, congratulations Anonymous!

HMMMMM, lemme think, if I know Nic well enough, then she wouldn't delete a comment unless you'd said something offensive. Regardless of what you consider to be a joke or not, the general public read these comments, and there are standerds to consider.

And yes, You are supposed to take it. It is after all HER site. Nic is therfore allowed to remove comments which are deemed offensive. Wise up, your the one acting like a jackass from where I'm standing.

Sorry TJC, the 2nd Anon. comment was from me, forgot to put my name in. I was asking why the 1st. Anon. thought he was allowed to be a jackass and everyone else was just supposed to take it. I'm in full aggreement with you.

Thanks guys. I don't feed the trolls so I just happily delete any rude comments rather than engaging the poster. :)

Everyone must do their work professionally and honestly, if people are so stupid as to not understand that all work (apart from illegal ones) are good, it's better than they don't make no comment.

Can I ask you something? But with all the exposure that you have on the Internet, no one ever came of your customers by saying "I saw you on Deviantart" or "I read your blog"?

Nic said...

I agree with you, Crios!

No, so far I've never had a client recognize me from the internet. I HAVE, however, had people recognize me as Velma! :P

LoL as Velma is great :D

First double I ever did at passive the other girl spent the entire time giving an elaborate handjob. I was pretty flabbergasted. But then she was also a nutjob... I told other people, but she didn't get fired. Luckily that was the only time it happened and I didn't work with her again.
