Please Hold

EDIT: I'm really sorry guys, it's breaking my heart, but I just can't get this scanner to work and I have only so much time (and patience) to fight with it before real life interrupts. I've gotta admit to a hiatus again until I get settled and find a way to resolve my issues with technology...
In the meantime I'll keep drawing, I just don't think it's fair to string you all along with an update here and there when I find time to visit friends with working scanners. :(

Here's hoping I'm back soon. :(

I am the grouchiest of grouches.

Because scanner is not working with new computer. Please stand by until sourpuss Nic can fix these technical difficulties.

Your grouchyface is too cute! You should look in a mirror to make yourself less grouchy!

"Please continue to hold and the next available dominatrix will be with you as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience. Now sit there and be a good little sub or no playtime for you!"

My friends tell me I carry my own anti-technology field. Tech breaks around me; clocks stop working, batteries die, computers become extremely odd, personal gadgetry resets or forgets it can operate, at least the way it did. (True story: I had a hard drive once that managed to physically write-protect itself so that no further data could be stored on it. We NEVER figured that one out.)

So just keep telling yourself: it could be worse. You could be me. :)

When in doubt do as the Russians, use hammer. IF that fails use a bigger hammer, and if that fails take it out back shoot it and make an example out of it for the next scanner. Like i did with 360 http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/video/video.php?v=127705013927531

Sorry, Nic, but I kinda agree with the smart-asses. Your grouchy-face is more of a pouty-face.

And an extremely cute pouty-face too. The lip ring really brings out the pout, both IRL and illustrated.

I just want to say I have really enjoyed getting caught up on your comics, which I only discovered recently. Thanks for daring to take on such subjects and even managing to be tasteful about it, it's nice for all of us to realize that we're not alone in our weirdnesses...

And as when any other good webcomic I follow has gone on hiatus, I'll wait. Patiently, even. :) It;s worth it.

And I second tom's suggestion of the hammer. Very therapeutic when technology misbehaves!

Nic,

Found your comic linked on Oh Goodie! and spent the last few hours devouring the archive.

If you end up getting a new scanner you should check out the Canon LIDE line. They use LEDs for the light source instead of a cathode or florescent lamp (glass). As as result, I think the color of the scans is better. The price is often lower. They're thinner, lighter weight, draw power off the USD port (so no power brick) and, in my experience, more durable. In my family, we've had only one go bad out of several over years of use.

Cheers!
